Hotspot Writing

Welcome back to my blog,

This is my writing and my writing goal.

I did some free writing using the prompt 'Something Funny'.
I was thinking about my goal which is Structure and organisation.

Structure and Organisation:
- I group my ideas clearly
- When someone reads my writing it flows and the groups of ideas are
in order

  1. Something funny

Last night I went out for dinner with my brother. He has a two year old son, my Nephew, Amos.
I think Amos is the cutest thing in the world and he has just started talking and putting words
together. Sometimes the things he says are hilarious. I would like to tell you what he said but it
is not very polite. What made it extra funny was that he figured out that words rhyme.

When you comment on my writing or my blogs can you please give me feedback about my goal.
Thank you for reading my post.Bye

How our Classroom Rolls

Hello Wigram Primary, Mrs McCormick and your class,

We are writing this blog post for you to tell you how our classroom rolls!

We are a very funky classroom. We do fun things like painting and baking just to name a few. We go swimming every second day and on Friday our teacher, Miss D lets us use her speaker and we have a pool party.  Miss D takes choir and ukulele lessons for school children musicians and we think she's awesome. Her headline is ' You are awesome!!!!!!!'

We are funky because we all have different hair dos, different personalities and are unique individuals. Our class is amazing because we treat each other with respect and kindness. We invest our personal best in developing our stamina and resilience in learning and in building character. We learn Create and Share.

We love to do art. We love to play fun games for fitness and for our physical activity we change each fun game every 3 to 5 minutes during fitness. We love to make blog posts and we also love to sing. We love to do maths and talk about our learning.

We are all special and recognise this each day with special chair people. ( People who get to sit on chairs.)

We are looking forward to reading your blog post!

Have an awesome day!!!

Kind regards,
 Ako Ngatahi Room 6

Fabulous Friday!

Hello everyone,

Friday's are my favourite days at school!

They are days for relationship building... for spending time together as a school family and a class family.

One of the things that makes Friday a special day is that whenever we go to the pool on Friday it usually turns out to be a pool party. We don't do formal lessons in the pool but instead play around with each other, listen to music and sometimes have organised games in the pool. The children have a jump zone and it ends up being a fun and relaxing time.

Another way we encourage children to be aware, be kind and practise their values, is by having buddy class. This can be quite tricky sometimes as the younger buddies need us to be clear, articulate and encouraging. We always have some good things to learn with our buddies and most of us have a lot of fun too!

I bet you wish you were here too!

Nga mihi,

Miss D

Welcome to our Room 6 class blog!

I am so impressed by the incredible group of children that are part of our class. Thank you to the amazing teachers who have come before and the parents who have instilled respect and values in your children. We are looking forward to having a lot of fun and being able to trust each other to do the right thing.

We have started off the term with an art unit and getting back into routines with our blog and new class site.

On Friday afternoon we learnt a few techniques of water colour and today we had a great time in the pool. Our swimming focus is getting the 'power through our legs' so we are just working on our kicking at the moment.

Well done to all the childrne who brought their togs to school. Kersten is also opening the pool this week for lunch time swims so make sure you bring your togs even if it is not our lesson day.
